Travel advice

By Ferry

Brittany Ferries ( ) run regular and frequent services from Plymouth, Poole and Portsmouth from March to January. From January to March sailings continue from Portsmouth only. Fares are discounted with our Club voyager visitor concession. Driving times to the house from the French terminals are:

Roskoff: 1 ½ hours
St. Malo: 2 hours
Cherbourg: 4 hours
Le Havre: 4 hours
Caen: 3 hours

From The Channel Tunnel and Calais it’s a 6 – 7 hour drive.

By Plane

From London City Airport to Quimper between 21st May and 6th September.

Easyjet from Bristol to Nantes ( 2 hours from the house) from March 24th until 27th October, flying on Mondays and Thursdays.

Ryanair to Dinard ( 2 hours drive) from Stanstead, Leeds Bradford and East Midlands airports.

Southampton to Rennes ( 2 hours drive)

Airport car hire is available at all airports

Tickets can be purchased up to 3 months in advance and are best booked as soon as possible as they can be up to 70% cheaper! SNCF rail cards for the young and over 60’s can further reduce the cost.

Car hire at train stations in both cities are excellent.
